End of School

It is now officially the last half of the fourth quarter and everyone is now starting to work hard to keep grades up or they have just given up. Teachers are still working hard to challenge us but the general outlook about the rest of the year is that we really just dont care. We are so close to getting out of school and moving on to a great summer break.
As a student I know that all of the students at Roncalli are counting the days till summer break. We just don't care about our school work now and it is clearly effecting us. We are becoming more stressed because we are still getting homework, projects, and tests. I think that schools should slowly wind down the challenge of school in the last half of the fourth quarter. It is ridiculous to think that teachers will still give us challenges at this point in the year. We cannot focus any more due to the approaching summer and they should just let it go.

  1. I agree with Gavin's point of view. They should realize by now that we're not going to try any harder when it's a month until summer. We're thinking about what we're going to do, whether it be a vacation, a job, college, or which concerts to go to. I think that the last 3 weeks of school should be all about reviewing everything we went through for the semester so we are prepared for finals. If teachers continue to pile on more and more work so soon before the end of the year, we'll become more stressed and more likely to blow things off.

  2. I agree with Gavin and Joe. At the end of the school year it seems like the teachers pile on the homework and projects. It makes it so hard to focus with summer so close. However, we still need to learn. I like Joe's idea of spending the last few weeks of school reviewing. By doing this, the students can further test their knowledge, and then once it comes time for finals, we are able to do really well because we spent those weeks reviewing.

  3. I agree as well because students are getting over worked and are being stress while trying to keep grades up. Students are excited to get out of school for the summer but still are trying to maintain their grades to pass. All the tests and stress is just making students so much more unhealthy. They stay up late and work hard to keep grades up which is a good thing but they're gettign burnt out which may lead to grades dropping. If teachers could just lower the homework or just give more time in class to do the homework then maybe students woulodn't be so stressed and grades might be better.
